Well, here's a lesson that I didn't think that a fan who is two wins away from celebrating back-to-back championships would need to learn - don't go after a professional athlete who has always made light of his own struggles on social media. Seriously, how much hate must you have in your heart to pick up your phone immediately after your team goes up 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals and attack Beau Bennett's beautiful baby face for a tweet that isn't even remotely a shot at his former organization? The first round draft pick that was basically pushed out of a one of the most fortuitous positions in all of hockey (playing wing alongside Crosby and/or Malkin) in a wheelchair is basically the B-Rabbit of the sports world. He has never not cleverly and wittily been brutally honest about the brittleness of his body, and it's that type of self awareness that makes him so gosh darn lovable. Well, except to a douchebag Penguins fan that is clearly not appreciative of how lucky he is that his franchise absolutely sucked it's way into unparalleled center depth. Whatever the case may be, my heart grows fonder and fonder of Beau Bennett every time he posts on any form of social media, and for that reason - if not his peculiarly great possession numbers - I absolutely need him back in a New Jersey Devils' jersey next season.
