Bossip- A source close to the singer tells BOSSIP that things have been a bit rocky between Jeremih and his tour mate PartyNextDoor. Apparently Jeremih believes he should be co-headlining with the OVO crooner because he has mainstream hits. However, PartyNextDoor isn’t feeling that idea because attendance doesn’t suggest that Jeremih has the fan base to sell tickets.
We’re told that Jeremih was so mad that he was relegated to a mere opener that he sent his homeboy out on stage disguised as him to lip-sync his songs!
Honestly, I just used the term "stunt double" in the headline because that's what was getting tossed around on Twitter, but the guy that just performed an entire set as Jeremih was noooo stunt double. That was just a black guy of a similar build that was dressed to rob a convenience store using his hand as the "gun". To call that dude a stunt double would be incredibly disrespectful to anyone that has every legitamately impersonated someone else for the sake of entertainment. That poor bastard - who is undoubtedly being paid too little by a famous R&B singer - just did a worse job pretending to be a famous R&B singer than any set of pillows has ever done in trying to trick parents that their child is home in bed by curfew. If that lip synching silhouette was Jeremih then literally any generic white boy of average height that is clothed like he's battling a flu is Eminem.
But you know what? I kinda love this move. I fully admit that's because I would never sacrifice a cent to go see Jeremih live, but I just can't help appreciate the lack of fucks an artist has to give to just send someone on stage as them wearing nothing but an egregiously oversized hoodie as a "costume". I know most of us don't have venues full of people willing to pay good money to watch us display our God-given talent, but we have ALL had that moment where we just refuse to do something no matter how bad it makes us look. Sometimes the thrill of ignoring your responsibilities temporarily outweighs the consequences of failing to uphold them. Eventually Jeremih will regret pissing on his fanbase's head while having some other asshole tell them it's raining, but he will never forget that exhilarating feeling of doing so. If you don't believe me then you should really try canceling plans minutes before they are supposed to be put into action without a viable excuse more often.
