Metro- Pastor Roger Jimenez from Verity Baptist Church said, ‘Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?
‘Um no. I think that’s great. I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida, is a little safer tonight. The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die. The tragedy is I’m kind of upset he didn’t finish the job – because these people are predators. They are abusers.’ ‘I wish the government would round them all up, put them up against a firing wall, put the firing squad in front of them and blow their brains out.’ Jimenez joins a jolly gang of hate-filled homophobes such as the Christian fanatics at Westboro Baptist Church – who claimed that ‘God sent the Orlando shooter’. In a series of hate-filled Tweets sent from the church’s official Twitter account, the Christian group claimed that the patrons of the Pulse nightclub would be ‘in Hell’ after the killings. The group said, ‘God hates fags. God sent the shooter. God hates murderer Omar Mateen. Omar Mateen & slain fags are in hell.’ So I guess they are just letting anyone preach the word of the Lord these days, huh? Here I was thinking you had to have some understanding of the how God's teachings relate to modern society to be given the right to boast about them in front of a crowd. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out you don't even have to know the definition of the word 'pedophile' to erroneously spread the antiquated lessons of the Bible. You can think that Jesus Christ is a fan of ISIS and still be blessed with the opportunity to talk out of your ass and enable idiots like a 6th grade science teacher reading from a book that was written when people still thought the world was flat. I didn't think I could possibly despise anyone more than the guy that shot and killed 50 people solely because he was ashamed he shared their sexuality, but his fucking cheerleading section is really giving him a run for his money. You think innocent people dying was scary? How about the fact that there is a significant enough portion of the population that was comforted by the news? People that actually slept better having heard that there were 50 less homosexuals in the world. People getting on their hands and knees and praying to a higher power that the health of 53 people laying up in hospital beds critically injured takes a turn for the worst. I am the farthest thing from a religious person, but I thought it's primary purpose was to bring people together and make everyone feel like the world is a fair and just place. Safe to say this "sermon" had the exact opposite effect on every single person with a functioning brain.
