Uproxx- Now things are getting even tighter. When an Australian news team flew to Canada to interview the former women’s bantamweight champion, they were told “no questions about fighting, or she would walk out.”
“If you ask those questions, the interview is done,” an unidentified PR person says in the video. “The interview is done.”
“She’s a fighter!” reporter Mike Amor responded, incredulous. “That’s like asking me to do a story about basketball and not asking about basketball.”
"Guys, guys, guys...little respect please? How many times do I have to tell you that Ms. Rousey is unwilling to speak on her fighting career. She will discuss her 'Saturday Night Live' appearances that she got because of her fighting career. She will discuss her 'Sports Illustrated' cover that she got because of her fighting career. She will discuss every upcoming movie role she got because of her fighting career. Is that not enough material for you? Is some compassion too much to ask for? When did the media picking apart the negative? Jesus, don't you remember that she was suicidal, like, two weeks ago? Can't you just focus on the side jobs she is doing to make you forget that her ass got abused worse than Sasha Grey's in her last starring role instead of focusing on the activity she was partaking in when it did? She's a human being too, you know? A human being with feelings, and emotions, and an inability to get over one single setback in the career of HER choice. With that said, she is totally committed to her training and has big plans of seeking redemption against Holly Holm whenever it is that she decides to start acknowledging that UFC -the company that is responsible for her entire net worth- is still in existence."
