TMZ- He's been out of the NFL for 2 years ... but Braylon Edwards is CRUSHING IT in the gym -- turning himself into a monster ... and he insists he's 100% roid-free. Edwards has basically been living in the gym and working out with a hardcore crew. He looks bigger than he ever was during his time in the league.
Unclear if the 32-year-old is training for a comeback (unlikely after 5 knee surgeries) or just enjoys getting his pump on ... but he insists he's au naturel.
"I don't take roids I work out everyday no exceptions no excuses."
First of all, let's address the fact that Braylon Edwards has only been out of the NFL for TWO YEARS. We are going to have to take a little trip to 'Maury', because I am like 92.7% sure that is a lie. Most of the time you hear how long someone has been gone from the game and you are surprised it has been so long. Not Braylon Edwards. If you had asked me the last time he played football I would have said five years ago, and I would considered that a conservative estimation. More importantly....
You know what's worse than being an NFL wide receiver that's accused of doing steroids? Being an ex-NFL wide receiver that is so irrelevant that people don't even care whether or not you're doing steroids. Seriously though, good to hear that Braylon Edwards is alive, and I am happy that he's found a new hobby, but I couldn't give less of a fuck if he is using performance enhancing drugs to see better results from that hobby. In fact, I really don't think anyone does. Are there really people that are lobbing steroid accusations at Braylon Edwards? Those are the people that need to get a life, even more so than the ex-athlete that's spending 20 hours a day in the gym and is totally, definitely not jeopardizing his long term health by sticking needles in his ass.
I'm pretty convinced that Braylon Edwards made this whole controversy up. He hasn't been in the news since Mark Sanchez and the Jets were in the playoffs and he probably just wanted to give everyone a look at his new body. However, if there is one thing I know about steroids it's that going out of your way to deny your use of them is a surefire sign that you are, indeed, using them. This is like telling someone "hey, you look a little skinny", and their instant response is to snap back "no, I don't do cocaine!". It's like getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar and claiming you are diabetic. Okay Braylon, we totally believe you. You don't do steroids. You just randomly bring them up in conversation. Makes total sense. Have a nice life. Please don't kill me.
