So Every Time A Transgendered Woman Gets Pushed On To The Subway Tracks It's A Hate Crime?

NBC- A transgender woman was pushed onto the subway tracks at a Greenwich Village station by a man "acting erratically" who demanded to know what she was looking at, police said Wednesday.

Authorities said they are investigating the case as a hate crime.

The 28-year-old victim was on the southbound platform waiting for the 6 train at Lafayette and Bleecker streets Monday morning when she was approached by the suspect, according to police.

He allegedly asked her "What are you looking at?," then ran to a garbage can, where he fished out an empty plastic bottle and threw it at her, according to police.

The man pushed the woman onto the tracks, then ran away.



At the risk of sounding insensitive to the woman that was pushed on to the tracks, what exactly makes this a hate crime? The way I see it, this woman deserved it. Well, maybe 'deserve' is strong, but she certainly had it coming. How long have you been in New York City lady man? The first rule of the subway is don't look a crazy person in the eye. That's day one shit. The under-street dwellers are begging people to look at them sideways. Daring people to give them a reason to fly off the handle. As a transgendered woman I would have thought you learned by now that it's not nice to stare. If you want your sexuality to go mainstream then you just stand there, look straight ahead and listen to music like everyone else. This guy wasn't picking on you because you have a penis and are wearing a dress, he was picking on you because you were rude. A transgendered person in a New York subway in 2015 is nothing unfamiliar. A transgendered person in the subway giving you the stink eye while you rummage through the trash certainly is a new phenomenon. Once you change genders you lose the right to be unaccepting of others. Cut the guy a break. As everyone became cool with transgenders, he basically became the only type of person that gets judged by all parties in the subway.

On the off chance that this was a hate crime, maybe this woman should look into a better makeup artist. Be a better transgendered person one time. You want to be a woman at least put the time and effort in to looking like one. Come on lady. Put a little more blush in those cheeks. Either tuck that bad boy between your legs or wear a longer skirt. Some lunatic in the subway shouldn't be able to identify a transgendered person out of the corner of his eye. If the neighborhood garbage man is offended by your attempt to femininity then you are probably doing it wrong.
