South Carolina Man That Was Too Prideful To Get ObamaCare Is About To Lose His Eye, And I Think You Know Whose Fault He Thinks It is

Raw Story- South Carolina conservative who refused to sign up for Obamacare is going broke and blind – and he blames Obama.

Luis Lang learned in late February that he had suffered a series of mini-strokes that left him with bleeding in his eyes and a partially detached retina caused by diabetes, reported the Charlotte Observer.

The 49-year-old Lang, a self-employed handyman and Republican who works with banks and the federal government to maintain foreclosed properties, has never purchased insurance and always prided himself on paying his own medical bills.

His vision has worsened so much that he hasn’t worked since December, which could put the couple’s $300,000 Fort Hill home in jeopardy along with his health.

“He will lose his eyesight if he doesn’t get care — he will go blind,” said Dr. Malcolm Edwards, an ophthalmologist who has given Lang injections at a discounted rate to control the bleeding.

Lang, a smoker who admits he has been inconsistent in controlling his diabetes, said he has sought help from charities but found he was either too young or too old for most agencies.

So he turned to the Affordable Health Care exchange – which he had previously chosen not to do in violation of the law, believing help would be available in an emergency.

“(My husband) should be at the front of the line because he doesn’t work and because he has medical issues,” said his wife, Mary Lang. “We call it the Not Fair Health Care Act.”

Lang and his wife blame President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats for passing a flawed law – although not even private insurers allow people to forgo payments when they’re healthy and cash in benefits after they’re sick.

Well, well, well, looks like that mean old President Obama is getting the last laugh now, eh Luis? Hey, no one should be surprised that this guy is blaming Obama for HIS decision to avoid getting health care now that he is about to go blind. Someone that is too prideful to get health insurance despite having the ability to afford it is obviously too prideful to ever admit when he is wrong. Let's be real, this guy is an old white conservative. In his eyes (while they still work) there hasn't a been a problem during the last eight years that hasn't been directly linked to Obama's term in office . Why would he start taken responsibility for himself now when he is less than a year away from losing his favorite scapegoat? 

Let me ask a pretty general question here. If you had unprotected sex that resulted in an unwanted pregnancy would you blame Trojan? Much like condoms, health insurance is one of those things that seem like a much better idea after the fact. You think Mr. Lang ever wondered why people spent their entire lives paying for healthcare instead of just going to pick it up at the store like it was cough medicine whenever they felt ill? Probably thought he was taking advantage of the stupidest business plan ever. Talk about a ballsy diabetic. Just taking his insulin shots and puffing down a pack a day with no recourse in mind until his fucking eye is about to fall out. Hope paying for those doctors visits gave you a genuine sense of pride you blind bastard. I mean, I would piss all over my pride and flush it down the toilet if it was between that and my sight, but to each his own. I think I would rather retain my dignity by not walking into people, places and things because I can't see shit, but at least you don't have to worry about that co-pay. There is something to be said for that. 

Sure, Luis has no concept of how health insurance works, but he knows he never needed it until Obama came into office with his big swinging dick and reformed it. Don't tell me the man isn't schooled in the concept of cause and effect. That timing is just a little too 'unfair' to be a coincidence.
