YardBarker- “It truly is bittersweet. I grew up in Missouri, and there’s a lot of wonderful people in St. Louis and Missouri,” Kroenke explained. “I’ll always feel that way about Missouri. I never dreamed I’d be put in this position. But at the same time, you’re not going to sit there and be a victim.”
Don't you see what you've done Missouri? You took the Rams, and more importantly their owner, and drove them into the welcoming hands of another city. The hands of a bigger, prettier, wealthier city. This is on you guys. You made him do this. He almost had no choice. Okay fine, that's factually incorrect. He could have very easily taken the $400 million offer he got to build a new stadium in St. Louis, but would that really have fixed all the other problems in the relationship? It's not that Stan Kroenke doesn't love you anymore St.Louis, it's that he's no longer in love with you. You took him for granted, and now he's lashing out. He didn't meant to say that you guys are a financial wasteland. He said it out of spite after all you have put him through. You know, all that hurt and pain that comes with being a billionaire in a small market city. In all seriousness though, can somebody get Stan Kroenke down to an Italian barbershop? We are going to need to curl the ends of that mustache and find him a disgruntled looking cat for his lap. I wish there was a soundbite that went along with this quote, because you know he finished it off with a maniacal laugh. There's no other way to say it, he just went full villain. When I first read that Kroenke referred to himself as the victim I kind of just assumed that he implied he was a victim. That would have been plenty tone deaf enough, but nope, he just came right out and said he was forced into raping and pillaging a fan base of it's football team. I have to admit, I am pretty impressed. Not like in a good way, but the sheer amount of delusion that this man is exuding is certainly something to marvel at. He's like the joker in Batman. He's embraced the role of the antihero because he's convinced himself that all the terrible things he's said and done to his hometown are completely justified. They probably (definitely) aren't, but at least he's not regretful. Nothing worse than someone ripping your heart out and then trying to apologize for it. St. Louis is ALWAYS going to loathe Stan Kroenke anyway, so at least he's making it a little bit easier for them.
