The California Judge That Got Busy With An Intern And An Attorney In His Chambers Has Been Re-Elected

HuffPost- A California judge who was reprimanded for having sex with two women in his chambers was re-elected on Tuesday — and the vote wasn’t even close.

Scott Steiner won 56 percent of the vote against Karen Schatzle, The Associated Press reported, citing unofficial results from the Orange County registrar of voters.

Steiner, a Superior Court judge for five years, was censured in 2014 by the Commission on Judicial Performance for boinking his intern and an attorney in his chambers, the Los Angeles Times noted. Both were once law students of the judge.

“Engaging in sexual intercourse in the courthouse is the height of irresponsible and improper behavior by a judge,” the commission said, per the Times.

Steiner was also criticized for attempting to help one of his sex partners get a job with the district attorney’s office, the Orange County Register reported. In addition, he was reprimanded for not recusing himself from a case that involved a pal.

“Judge Steiner is proud of the job he’s done on the bench, and the voters agree,” his campaign manager, Scott Hart, told the Register.




​I see a lot of people talking about this like it's some sort of disgrace, and I got to say that I am glad he got re-elected. I think all people running for varying forms of office or positions of power should get be granted a second term if they get busted doing something promiscuous. I personally believe it increases their relatability. The people that have authority but only abuse it to get laid are the type of people we should trust. Why do you think everyone still loves Bill Clinton? He was just a normal ass dude that happened to think with his cock a couple (hundred) times. No harm, no foul. The guy was as see through as they come. The only time he had an ulterior motive was when his dick was hard. 

So this judge technically acted inappropriately in his chambers. Having your own chambers is like having your own Oval Office, what are you supposed to do - not use them to engage in filthy, disgusting sex acts? I am turning myself on just by typing the word "chambers" so if you expect me to believe that you wouldn't have abused them by doing the same damn thing then I have no choice but to assume the skeletons in your closet are far worse than frowned upon fraternizing. Everyone has a vice and - all things considered - forbidden sex is a pretty fucking harmless one. I bet this dude's competition was an alcoholic or an insider trader. Would your rather have a guy in charge of the courts that abuses his privileges or a guy that abuses substances/trust? Exactly. After Scott Steiner empties his chamber inside his chambers he's got the clearest head in the county. I suppose sleeping with former students wasn't the smartest move, but - considering how often he's been a slave to his primal instincts - I'm pretty proud of him for waiting until they were no longer in his class to do so. That's the type of restraint I admire from a person who has the final say on the freedom of others.
