In a way, that's just the perfect way for it to end between the Clippers and Josh Smith. RETURN TO SENDER. Josh Smith is like that piece of exercise equipment that you buy on a whim, you use it for like two weeks, realize you hate it, throw it into the corner of the room, and just stare at it over and over until you get tired of being reminded how bad of a purchase it was so you just send that shit back. Josh Smith is back like he never left the warehouse! That "Instant Abs! Just 6 minutes a week!" machine? Never even happened. Josh Smith? Who's that? The Clippers basically admitted defeat. Don't worry Doc, it's not your fault. Okay well, actually it kinda is, but well give you a pass because everyone has an ill advised purchase from time to time. Unfortunately the Clippers didn't keep the receipt so they had to slide a little cash under the table to get them to take him back. I'm pretty sure that makes the Houston Rockets the NBA equivalent of Walmart. Makes perfect sense considering their offensive philosophy is as bargain basement as it gets. That where Josh Smith belongs. A place where he can hesitatingly take awful jumpers and make them juuussssst often enough to justify continuing to do so. Oh well, when you're getting badly outplayed by Cole Aldrich then your loss is really addition by subtraction. Doc Rivers ego may have had to take a little bit of a hit in the process, but unloading Josh Smith back to the manufacturer is a move that is better for both parties involved. The only real loser here is Lance Stephenson, because he just lost his slap boxing/sparring partner.
