The Hypocrisy Of The Guy Burning A Brandon Marshall Shirt Outside The Broncos Facility Is So Perfect9/13/2016
"He's got the right message about oppression and his people. He's got the wrong format."
You know what? Sometimes the only way to teach a professional athlete how to properly support what they believe in is to show them yourself. That's why I couldn't think of a better person to give Brandon Marshall a glimpse into the error of his ways than the old man whose mode of disagreement is t-shirt burning. Honestly, who is more in tune with appropriate and inappropriate displays of protest more so than the guy who expresses himself primarily through arson? After all, It's not that he doesn't understand that the oppression of African Americans is still a very real thing that still exists in society, it's that he thinks kneeling during the National Anthem is a childish, immature way to bring attention to one's self instead of the actual issue. Not going to lie, he's got a pretty solid argument. Especially since his retaliatory actions have been nothing if not upstanding. Maybe, just maybe, if Brandon Marshall were paying attention he would see that the only way to truly promote your message is to stand outside the offices of a business with a piece of merchandise that represents one of their employees, douse it in lighter fluid, and torch it to ashes. As a white man in American I don't feel I am at liberty to say whether or not kneeling during the National Anthem is the wrong format. However, if this outspoken old dude with too much time on his hands has taught me anything it's that jovially setting fire to things that symbolize those that have done you wrong out of principle certainly is the right format. Come on Brandon, be a man use your lighter to make your case. I guess that means setting an American flag ablaze, but it was the veteran's idea so it looks like you have to do it if you really care about equal rights for your people...
