As long as we don't mention the shockingly low number of players deserving of mention throughout 50 years of Saints football, then there is really nothing not to love about this. How do you not show up to practice giving it your all when you're staring up a banner that memorializes the most significant and accomplished of athletes that carried the torch before you? I'm fired up just looking at the damn thing and it's surprisingly realistic representation of 70,000+ rocking the Dome. If that doesn't remind the current players why they work so hard up until Sundays then no insanely intricate hat tip to half a decade of football in New Orleans will. Also, considering the buzz surrounding Drew Brees - now settled - contract situation, I couldn't help but notice his omission first and foremost. What can I say, I am a prisoner of the moment. Obviously he's not included because he's going to outlast science and play quarterback at a Hall Of Fame level until he's 72 years old so he doesn't need to be added quite yet. Still - knowing his attention to detail and the endless amount of things he undoubtedly uses as motivation - there's no way he doesn't look up at that thing like it's strictly his job to fight his way on it while honoring every last person pictured. That's the type of attitude I need from my staring quarterback while coming off two miserable 7-9 seasons that seemed over before they started.
