Does a lowly blogger - that has a hard time accepting the truth when a team he cares way too much about signs a kicker that stinks to the highest of heavens - have any effect on the personnel moves of a professional sports franchise? Probably not. However, it is rather coincidental that no more than a couple days after I basically said that the signing of Josh Scobee was just a smokescreen they just happened to sign another kicker. I'm not going to take credit for it happening, but I will say that I was one of the first to semi-sarcastically predict it, and that has to count for something. Nothing gets a fanbase excited for the re-signing of a below average kicker like previously inking the worst kicker in the league and making them think that he might actually see the field. So yeah, I am pumped that Kai Forbath is back, and I can't say I would have felt the same way if a year of Josh Scobee missing every single important field goal wasn't briefly staring me in the face. The Saints took me to the deepest, darkest pits of football hell just so they could show me how bad things can be, and indirectly make me feel better about the mediocrity they are currently middling in. I saw right through that move, but I'l be damned if it didn't inevitably work.
P.S. You know life as a kicker is rough when you can't find a good picture of yourself that doesn't have a 'Getty Images' watermark. P.P.S. You mad Giants fans?
