And now we play the waiting game. If there's one thing that the "potential" loss of Brandin Cooks undoubtedly costs the Saints offense it's a deep threat, and that's literally the only thing that Ted Ginn Jr. provides an offense. It's weird knowing that a void has been filled before it's officially been created, but not as weird as knowing I am going to have to start rooting for a player whose hands I have insulted so many times that reading my tweets regarding the matter could probably fill an entire roast slot on Comedy Central. I'm already enraged by the 2-3 40-50 yard touchdown bombs that Ted Ginn Jr. is inevitably going to (literally) leave on the field, but I am excited what he can bring to a "special" teams unit that couldn't return kicks if they came with a gift receipt. Regardless of whether or not Brandin Cooks gets traded (he gone), the guy they more than likely signed to prematurely replace him has a lot to offer a team that managed to down a goddamn kickoff that was going out of bounds at their own one yard line. At 32 years of age he's not someone that's going to come in and be anything more than a situational solution opposite of Michael Thomas, but - with the way Drew Brees spreads the ball around - he doesn't have to be. By all accounts, Carolina Panthers are unhappy with his departure and that says a lot about the boom-or-bust playmaking ability of someone whose hands were chiseled from stone. His drops probably can't be fixed by training with all the rolls of toilet paper in a 'Costco', but here's to hoping that his new quarterback's catchable passes leave 'Hot Hands' a little cooler under pressure...
