These Details Of Draymond Green's Arrest Might Not Be True, But They Certainly Sound Like They Could Be

YardBarker- Edmondson claims the altercation began the night before the alleged slap, when Green bumped into him while the senior cornerback was hanging out with his girlfriend. Here are some more details:

Edmondson told police he was hanging out with his girlfriend when Green bumped into him. Edmondson says he told Green, “Hey bro, you can at least say ‘Excuse me.'”

Green allegedly responded by saying, “Do you know who I am?” … and added, “I pay for n***as like you scholarships."

​Edmondson says two of Green’s associates then began to choke him out right in the bar. He later noticed that Green’s associates choked his girlfriend as well.

Edmondson says he left the bar Friday night without contacting police and returned the following day to celebrate his birthday. That’s when he claims he ran into Green again, and Green confronted him about the incident the previous night. Edmondson says Green told him “last night wasn’t cool” and began poking him in the shoulder. Edmondson told police he told the Warriors forward not to touch him and then “boom I’m punched in my jaw.”

​Trust me when I say I am not treating every word of a victim's account of an altercation at a college bar as gospel. In my past experiences I have learned that the person most likely to fabricate details about a slap fight is the person that came out on the ass end of said slap fight, so unfortunately the validity of Jermaine Edmundson's story is compromised by default.

Now - taking all that uncertainty into account - doesn't this just sound like some shit that Draymond Green would do? There may not be a player in the history of the NBA whose head has inflated to such a nauseating extent in such a small time period. Seems like just yesterday he was a 2nd round pick who had battled against adversity to become the unofficial leader of an NBA Champion. 73 wins later and he's the most insufferable douchebag on the planet. He's the self important egomaniac that only takes responsibility for his actions after they play a large part in costing his team a title. He's no longer the guy riling up his team, but he's the guy bitching at the refs following every damn play. I just know that from what I have seen from Draymond Green since winning a championship I would not be surprised to find out that he actually did say some uber-pompous shit like “Do you know who I am? I pay for n***as like you scholarships". 

That's just the type of person he as become with fame. The type of person that you love to have on your team because he's just cocky enough to be successful, but the type of person that you hate being around because he's just cocky enough to think the rules don't apply to him. Do I believe that an upper echelon NBA player and his entourage were choking out a girl over getting bumped in a crowded college bar? No. Do I believe this situation escalated because Draymond Green's sharp tongue and newly enhanced arrogance is a deadly combination? You're goddamn right I do. Mostly because that seems like it's par for the course for the kind of grown man that's made ball-tapping his calling card and looked like this in his mugshot...
