Remember in 'D2: Mighty Ducks' when Adam Banks scores against Iceland then points his stick in the net before someone comes by and basically slashes his arm in half? What the producers of that movie either don't know or won't tell you is that that guy had every right to try to chop off Banksy's hand at the wrist. There are a lot of acts of showmanship that can be forgiven in hockey, but blatantly mocking the goaltender is not one of them. That's why - as much as I love his celebration - Josh Gratton needed to get his ass beat here. Not for me, not for this team, not for their goalie, but for the integrity of the sport. You just can't have people going around literally stealing net minder's drinks without paying the price. I don't even know what the score of this game was at this point, but it had to end with the yellow team losing by at least 10. I would be surprised if that goaltender stopped another puck the rest of the night. You just don't come back from getting emasculated like that, especially if you don't so much as throw a punch in retaliation. You can't let a guy score on you and then stand over you hydrating. I say that from the goalie perspective and the team perspective.
P.S. The guy who scored the goal is former NHLer Josh Gratton so I guess the upside to only lasting a few seasons in the L is having the ability to go play overseas and bully foreigners at your own discretion.
