Let's be clear, the only thing brilliant about this ad is that it's not sexist. Other than that it's about as unintelligible as the people that it is aimed at. Don't give her the shaft, but do give her the Vitamin D? Those sexual innuendos are completely disconnected, and that right there is the beauty of them. They don't make nearly enough sense when put together to be offensive to anyone. However, you use enough words that refer to a penis then you can generally get a snicker out of most men regardless of their context. Say what you want about 'Schick Hydro', but the person running their marketing campaign somehow found a common ground between pandering to dudes that like hot women and dick jokes, and offending a bunch of overly sensitive feminists that are appalled at how well sex sells. The message that this advertisement sends is begging to be argued against, but everyone knows you should never argue with stupid. The only people that can formulate a rational reason to be outraged by this propaganda are the male population whose intelligence it insults, but I'll be damned if we are going to ignore a praiseworthy slip of a 'D' just because we feel like we are being taken advantage of. Hell, even if we wanted to we would be too distracted by the sexy upper body with the slutty, seasonal name in the background.
