TMZ- Ex Ohio State superstar Troy Smith introduced himself to the cops who pulled him over by saying, "I'm officer" ... and it went downhill from there.
TMZ Sports obtained the dashcam video shot by the Westerville, OH police officers when the Heisman Trophy winner was pulled over early Sunday morning. The cops put him through the field sobriety paces, which included reciting the alphabet -- not even backwards -- and Smith had to bail out early.
Smith also informed the officers he'd "graduated from Ohio State with a degree in bachelors."
As we reported, cops say they found marijuana in Smith's car -- he was booked for that and drunk driving.
I don't know much from experience. I do, however, know that a Bachelor's Degree in Communications is just as useful in 2016 as whatever the fuck a "degree in bachelors" is, so you can say that Troy Smith is a drunken buffoon, but don't you dare say he undersold his education. A Bachelor's Degree in Communications might as well be a Degree in Bachelor Parties, because all you learn from it is how drunk, belligerent, and perverted your friends can be. I have to imagine that curriculum only gets more questionable when it's being taught to a football player in the midst of his Heisman Trophy winning season. For instance, what I got out of my Bachelor's Degree in Communications was certainly enough to be able to drunkenly recite the alphabet from C-W (as long as I started at A under my breath to get the rhythm going), but the same can't be said for someone whose sole focus was on winning a National Championship.
If anything is clear from this arrest it's that Troy Smith didn't gain a tolerance from his time in school, but he certainly did gain an ability to sound self important. It takes someone that played quarterback at 'THEE' Ohio State University to try to make his academic accomplishments sound more impressive by starting with the word 'degree'. A degree in bachelor's may not even be a thing that exists, but if it did then - semantically speaking - it would resonate more forcefully than a basic ass Bachelor's Degree. Troy Smith should be commended for realizing that given the fact that he was too shitfaced to remember that his name isn't actually 'Officer', and that a DUI is nothing to be smirking about...
