Video Of Florida State QB Punching A Girl In A Bar Leaks, But He's Not The Only Guilty Party

Yahoo-  De'Andre Johnson, a freshman who was suspended indefinitely by the program, is accused of punching a woman in the face at a bar on June 24. The security footage, which was obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, appears to backs up that claim.

The footage shows the victim, a 21-year-old female FSU student, and Johnson approaching the bar at nearly the same time. The woman reaches the bar first with Johnson just behind her, and the two appear to jostle for position at the bar.

Johnson tries to push his way forward past the woman, who then turns toward him with a cocked fist. Johnson grabs her fist and the two push one another for a few seconds before the woman throws a punch at Johnson. Johnson then responds with punch of his own, connecting to the side of the woman’s face. He then leaves the bar area.




Well, not a great day to be a Florida State quarterback, huh? Although, I guess if you are able to look past a 29-1 record, a National Championship, and a #1 overall draft pick in the NFL then that's always the case. In recent memory anyway. 

It's pretty clear who is right and who is wrong in this scenario. For that reason, it's really not worth discussing. I hope the woman was able to fully recover form her injuries, and I hope this guy gets every punishment and consequence that is inevitably coming his way. With that said, since there isn't too many differences in opinion between rational thinking human beings, let's focus on a few things that are being overlooked in this video. For instance, the guy in the tank top that decided that a girl getting sucker punched no more than 6 inches away was only worthy of a casual, yet untimely glance. I know hipsters that wear clear framed glasses and rock chin strap beards are prone to handling social situations in an unorthodox manner, but I think it might be time to step in when punches start getting thrown. The only thing more egregious than his lack of style is his lack of testosterone. Admittedly, I try to stay out of confrontations I have no involvement in, especially when it could lead to me getting hit by someone much bigger than myself. However, when a woman is involved you kind of have to be a little more proactive. Sure, it could get you hit, but it might just get you laid. Laid by a crazy girl that's throwing haymakers in the bar, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. 

Is this the most casual inter-gender bar top fight in history? What the fuck was everyone doing? One would think a disagreement that ended in throw knuckles would be a bit more of an attention grabber than that. Especially if one of the parties is a female. A full goddamn minute went by after the girl was struck and people were still trying to understand the concept of assault. By that point De'Andre had probably already washed her blood off his fist. Good thing they had that camera to capture what, apparently, a bunch of drunk co-eds were unable to. I would imagine that people at Florida State would be a little more conscious of unsportsmanlike conduct involving women, but I guess you don't change an entire campus culture overnight.
