Wil Myers' Brother Pitched For Him In The HR Derby And Proceeded To Bean One Right Off His Hip7/12/2016
And therein lies the catch. If you have a brother that you are close enough with that you want him to be responsible for throwing you hittable balls during a national broadcast contest then he wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't tag you with one right from the jump. That might sound contradictory but family precedes all, and that means Beau Myers must never forget to prioritize his role as Wil Myers' brother. Sure, in that moment he's his pitcher who has been entrusted with giving him the best chance win a pretty bad ass individual achievement, but that doesn't mean he's stopped being his blood. Do you know what real, loving brothers do when their siblings are at their most vulnerable? They get a laugh at their expense. The time that elapsed from one pitch will be well worth the story that will undoubtedly be brought up - and probably shown on loop ad nauseam - at every holiday get together from now until the end of time. Other than being one of the only people to get plunked by their pitcher in the home run derby, Will Myers' appearance at the plate was largely forgettable. That memory - and shared smile afterwards - is unquestionably not.
